A radically different design

Outcast underground loader bucket design
Ready for work with no GET to add

Key design features of the Outcast Bucket are:

  • No cast heel blocks, lip adapters, lip shrouds or underfloor wear bars – less weight, less friction, easier penetration, less maintenance.
  • Upper section of sidewalls and cutting-edge angle inwards to reduce impact with mine walls, shorten the bridge span and increase structural strength – improved clean up capability, less impact damage in upper side-sections of the bucket, less maintenance.
  • No boxed bridge section across the top of the bucket – less weight, less impact loading while digging, less maintenance.
Outcast underground mining bucket design
Underside of bucket floor raised off the ground
  • Underside of the bucket behind the cutting edge is 75mm above ground – less friction when bucket in ground contact and when digging, easier penetration, less wear (no need for wear bars), less maintenance.
  • Transition between the floor & sidewall is at 450 rather than a right angle – less wear in the transition area eliminates need for heel blocks so less maintenance.
Bolt on corner teeth
Long life bolt on corner teeth
  • Longer life, two-piece bolt on corner teeth – less maintenance.
Outcast loader bucket design
Ears outside the bucket profile
  • External attachment bores (Ears) allowing for a uniform internal bucket profile (no boxed-out section inside the centre of the bucket):
    • more efficient use of volume inside the bucket.
    • reduces maintenance by removing a high stress area in conventional buckets that is prone to material fatigue and cracking.
    • easier fitting to loader and easier line boring.
    • removal of corners inside the bucket which reduces the risk of hang-up of material.
Underground bucket re-design
Outcast Bucket
  • Internal skin made from high impact and wear resistant steel – less impact damage and wear which reduces maintenance and helps retain a smoother surface. The smoother surface improves material flow and combines with the uniform internal bucket profile to eliminate hang-up.
  • The design of the Outcast bucket lip and corner tooth can be customised for the needs of each user. They do not have to be a standard profile to suit the angle required to fit lip shrouds.

Lip profile and lip corner can be customised
